Kari Trevino Named JHS Assistant Principal

The Joshua ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Kari Trevino as the new Assistant Principal at Joshua High School during the regularly-scheduled meeting on March 28. She will become the Assistant Principal effective July 1, 2022.

Trevino currently serves as the Dean of the JISD District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) and began her role last summer. Previously, she was a Testing and 504 Coordinator at Burleson Centennial High School. She also has stints as an Elementary and Secondary Teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, and At-Risk Administrator.

Trevino earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Secondary Education from Texas Wesleyan University. She also earned a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from Concordia University-Portland and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. She has earned certifications as a K-12 Principal, in English Language Arts Reading 8-12, Generalist, 4-8, and ESL Supplemental.

She will take over for Melissa Kinnear, who was named the Principal of Nichols Middle School for the 2022-23 school year. Kinnear will succeed Brian Rosatelli, who will retire at the end of this school year.
