A Joshua ISD student has earned one of the top artist awards in the state!
Senior Joshua Pflueger has won the 2020 Art Spark Texas Award. The Spark Award is given to an emerging artist, performer, writer, filmmaker (etc.) with a disability who embodies the spirit of Art Spark Texas. Nominations are open to any individual over the age of 16 years in any discipline including visual art, dance, music, performance, craft, media, and writing.
Pflueger's art piece, called "Baby Bonnie", was selected out of several entries. He was nominated in March by his Art Teacher, Tamara Steele.
"Josh is an inspiration to us all," said Steele. "His positive attitude is contagious. He creates amazing large pieces of artwork with patience and detail."
Josh will be recognized during a virtual awards ceremony on September 20th.
