Joshua ISD is proud to announce Albert Carrizales as the new Joshua High School Head Baseball Coach.

Carrizales comes to the Owls program from Crowley High School, where he served as Head Baseball Coach since 2012. He was an assistant coach with CHS from 2010 to 2012. Carrizales coached CHS teams to four bi-district championships, three area championships and three regional quarterfinals. In 2019, Carrizales won his 100th game as head coach.

"We are excited to see him build upon the success of our baseball program," Superintendent Corey Hickerson said. "Coach Carrizales is a proven winner and dedicated to developing leaders both on and off the field of play."

After graduating from Crowley High in 2002, Carrizales attended McMurry University and played for the baseball team. Carrizales flourished at the collegiate level and set numerous records for the War Hawks.

He is tied for the most games played at 179. Carrizales also has the most career at-bats (675), hits (252), doubles (56), triples (16) and defensive assists in one game (11) in program history. He is also one of three players to hit for the cycle at McMurry.

In 2003, he earned the American Southwest Conference Freshman of the Year. He was a four-time all-conference and all-region shortstop and a 2005 All-American.
