Staff recognized at appreciation banquet and auction

May 1, 2023

The Joshua ISD family came together to celebrate during the annual Staff Appreciation Banquet and Auction last Friday night.

The event recognized our employees’ dedication this school year. Staff were greeted at the doors of Galbreath Gym and were awarded a door prize of their choice.

During the banquet, employees were treated to dinner courtesy of Roscoe's Barbecue. Superintendent Corey Hickerson recognized the JISD Board of Trustees and the Joshua ISD Education Foundation. Mr. Hickerson also announced the 2023 Employee Scholarship recipients.

Education Foundation Executive Director Julie Pool announced this year's Grant recipients. Altogether, the Foundation donated a record-high total of $94,647.04!

Mr. Hickerson also recognized our Teachers of the Year, Support Staff of the Year, Service Award recipients and Retirees.

Afterward, the auction portion of the event featured 73 gift baskets and raised $15,970 dollars. All proceeds will go towards scholarships for seniors.

Thank you to our partners at Roscoe's, Edward Jones Investments, for the trophies that were presented, the JISD Education Foundation and all departments that helped make this event possible. A special shout-out to the students in our 18+ program for creating the balloon centerpieces.
