Dillon Vaughn, Ashley Benson Highlight 2022 Hall of Fame Class

Joshua ISD is proud to announce that alumni Dillon Vaughn and Ashley Benson will be inducted into the Joshua ISD Class of 2022 Hall of Fame!

The two will be recognized during pregame ceremonies prior to the start of the Joshua Owls Homecoming game vs. O.D. Wyatt this Friday, September 2. The game will follow at 7 p.m.

Dillon is a 2012 graduate of JHS. While at JHS, Dillon was an outstanding participant on the Golf team. During his four years, he won 12 high school tournaments. He was named the 2010 District Champion and was the district runner-up in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, Dillon was the Regional Runner-Up and qualified for the golf state tournament. He finished his high school career ranked in the top 100 golfers in the nation for the class of 2012.

After graduating from Joshua High School, Dillon went on to play Golf at McLennan Community College for two years then transferred to Abilene Christian University for his Junior and Senior Years. During his two years at ACU, he became the first Division I Academic All- American Golfer in program history. After Dillon’s athletic career, he went on to attend Texas A&M University School of Law and is now a practicing attorney.

Ashley is a 2008 graduate of JHS. While at Joshua, she was a member of the Basketball, Cheer, Softball, and Volleyball teams. During her four years, she was voted First Team All-District for softball in 2005, District Defensive Player of the year in 2006 and 2007, Johnson County Outfielder of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007, First Team Fort-Worth Super Team in 2007 and 2008, Offensive Player of the Year in 2008, Johnson County Most Valuable Player in 2008, and First Team All-State Outfielder in 2008. Ashley was a member of the 2008 softball team who made it to the class 4A Regional Finals.

After high school, Ashley attended Oklahoma Baptist University on a softball scholarship from 2009 - 2012. While at OBU, she was the leading hitter in 2010 and 2012, an Academic All-American in 2011 and 2012, and an All-Conference in 2010 and 2012. She earned the Golden Glove in 2009 and 2010, and she was Team Captain in 2011 and 2012. She was an NAIA All-American Scholar, an NFCA All-American Scholar, a member of the President’s Honor Roll in 2009-2011, and a member of the Dean’s Honor Roll in 2010.

After graduating OBU, Ashley became a teacher and coach, and is currently the head softball coach for Joshua High School.
