Board Approves Hire of Four New Administrators

During the regularly scheduled June meeting, the Joshua ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve the hire of four new administrators for the 2022-23 school year.

Kristi Clifton was named the CTE Coordinator and will work to support and strengthen JISD's growing Career and Technical Education Department. Currently, JISD offers 16 CTE pathways and will be adding Marketing & Sales and Engineering beginning this fall. The Department also offers 9 industry-based certifications and will add a Federal Aviation Administration certification this fall.

Clifton has taught Anatomy & Physiology, AP Biology, Biology, Integrated Physics and Chemistry, and Pathophysiology at JISD since 2012. She was also a Cheer Coach and assisted the Student Council. Clifton gained leadership experience by serving as a Principal Intern, Department Chair, and a member of the Campus and District Improvement Committees.

Clifton earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education from Texas Christian University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University.

Kim Cassidy-Elder Elementary Principal

Kim Cassidy is the new Principal at Elder Elementary and comes to Joshua from Burleson ISD where she has served as an Assistant Principal since 2015. She also spent time at BISD as a Dyslexia Specialist and General Education Teacher.

Cassidy received her Bachelor of Education from Hardin-Simmons University and her Master of Education/Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.

She succeeds Debra Brakel, who will be joining Joshua ISD's Human Resources Department as a  Strategic Compensation Coordinator.

Jennifer Pyles-Caddo Grove Elementary Assistant Principal

 Jennifer Pyles is the new Assistant Principal at Caddo Grove Elementary. She is no stranger to Caddo Grove, as she has been the Math Specialist, Virtual Learning Liaison, and 5th Grade ELAR Teacher since 2016.

Prior to her time in JISD, she was the ESL and Advance Academics 2nd-4th Grade Teacher for Plummer Elementary in Cedar Hill ISD.

Pyles earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler.

She will replace Stacy Smith, who is the District's new rotating Assistant Principal, serving Loflin Middle, Caddo Grove Elementary, North Joshua Elementary, and Elder Elementary to assist with special programs, BIC, LPAC, and Special Education.

Timothy Hensley-Dean of DAEP/BIC

Timothy Hensley is the new Dean of DAEP/BIC. He served as a Special Education Teacher at Joshua High School.

Prior to his time in JISD, Hensley was an Assistant Principal/Director of DAEP, Defensive Coordinator, and Head Girls Powerlifting Coach in Athens ISD. He has also spent time in various roles at Mabank, Marlin, Georgetown, New Caney, Copperas Cove, Cypress-Fairbanks, and Bay City ISD.

Hensley earned his Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Sports Medicine from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. He received his Master of Secondary Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. 

He takes over for Kari Trevino, who will become an Assistant Principal at Joshua High School effective July 1, 2022.
