Texas School Safety Center awards JISD Police Captain with 2025-26 honor

Joshua ISD Police Department Captain Deloris “DeeDee” Mihalchik has earned the 2025-26 Outstanding Individual Service Award from the Texas School Safety Center (TSSC)! This comes on the heels of Captain Mihalchik earning the fall semester distinction.

This prestigious award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to school safety and security through exceptional personal initiative, commitment, leadership and advocacy.

Captain Mihalchik was nominated for her adaptation of the Standard Response Protocol. Her SRP training book is an easy-to-follow guide for elementary campuses. The TSSC awards committee described it as one of the most creative and impactful approaches they have seen for helping young students understand SRP training instructions.
