Tech-savvy teens: JHS students earn Acer Certification, troubleshoot Chromebooks into triumphant repairs

This year, Joshua High School students who have earned the Acer Certification as part of the Information Technology Support and Service pathway have begun repairing and maintaining some of the district's Chromebooks!

Equipped with knowledge from their coursework, students learn to troubleshoot common issues, replace faulty components and ensure that devices are functioning correctly. Students address a variety of issues, such as malfunctioning keyboards and defective ports. They have even replaced defective screens.

In addition to gaining technical knowledge of these devices, this group of JHS students has developed critical problem-solving skills and acquired real-world experience that prepares them for future careers in information technology.

By demonstrating the skills and understanding they have attained in this Career and Technical Education pathway, the students contribute directly to the seamless operation of digital learning tools within the district.
