One JHS Debate student advances to State

The Joshua High School Debate team was outstanding at the UIL Region XI Congressional Debate Tournament on Monday, November 11!

Shane Waits earned the title of Outstanding Presiding Officer and achieved second place in the competition. His remarkable success qualifies him for the UIL State Congressional Debate Meet in Austin in January. Mary Stiles and Austin Rees also advanced to the Finals, showcasing the team's hard work, preparation and dedication.

Special recognition goes to Aiden Gresham, whose authored legislation was not only debated at the tournament but also selected for inclusion on the UIL State docket—an exceptional accomplishment.
