National stage awaits for 7 JHS Students who earned Superior scores at State competition

Seven Joshua High School theatre students have earned places to compete in a national contest that will be held at the International Thespian Festival in June!

Alexis Patlan and Chloe Haferkamp, who competed in Duet Acting, Vadin Herr, Peter Mantilla, Brooke Ames, and Elizabeth Casanova, who competed in Contrasting Monologues, and Elijah Weatherly, who competed in Solo Musical, will all move on to the national stage.

The students earned their way by achieving Superior scores at the Texas Thespian Festival, where only 5-10% of students advance to nationals. JHS Theatre saw 70% of its participants advance to the next level.

The students, along with coordinator Tabitha Lain, was recognized at the School Board meeting on Wednesday night.
