JISD head of nursing named Goodside Health School Advocate of the Year

Our own District Nursing Coordinator, Tasha Estes, RN, has been honored with the Goodside Health 2023-24 School Health Advocate of the Year award!

The award is given to an individual who provides health leadership and guidance and displays a deep commitment to keeping students, staff and the community healthy.

The 2023-24 school year was the first full year of the partnership between JISD and Goodside Health which provides students access to telehealth visits from providers through the SchoolMed program. 

So far, the program has included nearly 2,500 student visits and saved more than 20,600 instructional hours.
