JISD Board approves new Chief Financial Officer
During a called meeting on August 26, the Joshua ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve the hiring of Carla Martin as Chief Financial Officer to oversee the district's finances and business office.
Prior to JISD, Martin served Arlington ISD as the Assistant Superintendent of Financial Services for the past two years. Before AISD, Martin worked in Midland ISD for seven years, in various roles in the financial services department, including four years as Executive Director of Financial Services. Before working in school districts, she spent seven years in the private sector in auditing positions
"Carla will be a tremendous asset to our district, bringing with her a wealth of experience in financial management and strategic planning," Superintendent Corey Hickerson said. "Her extensive background in budgeting, resource allocation, and fiscal oversight will not only enhance the efficiency of our operations but also directly contribute to the continued success and well-being of our students and staff."
Martin earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
