JHS swimmer earns bid to State for third year in a row
Over the weekend, Joshua High School swimmers hit the pool at the Region 2 contest, with one earning a trip to State!
Junior Donald Palmer won the 200 free event (1:43.29), becoming the first JHS swimmer to take a top spot at the regional meet, and placed second in the 100 fly (50.61) to qualify for both events at the State competition. He was named Male Athlete of the Meet for his performance! Palmer will be making his third trip to State.
In the girls events, Sophia Bustillos brought home 12th place in the 100 free and 14th in the 100 back.
The girls' 200 free relay (Avery Farrell, Olivia Durfey, Aubree Moore, Sophia Bustillos) took 9th place, as did the girls' 400 free relay (Avery Farrell, Olivia Durfey, Zoe Smith, Sophia Bustillos). The girls' 200 medley relay (Aubree Moore, Zoe Smith, Sam Link, Avery Farrell) was 13th.
