JHS debate teams excel at TFA and UIL State Tournaments
It was a busy spring break for Joshua High School debaters, who showcased their skills at both the Texas Forensic Association (TFA) State Tournament and the UIL State Policy Debate Tournament!
Policy debaters Tobias Hollmann and Presley Noojin, along with Congressional debater Maria Cetares, competed at the TFA State Tournament. Facing some of the top students in the state, they demonstrated strong preparation, professionalism and determination throughout the competition. While they did not advance past the preliminary rounds, they represented Joshua High School with pride in an exceptionally competitive field.
Following TFA, JHS debaters competed at the UIL State Policy Debate Tournament. Two teams represented JHS: Tobias Hollmann and Presley Noojin, and Jacob Pena and Austin Rees. All four debaters performed exceptionally well, and Pena and Rees advanced to the second day of competition as Octofinalists, earning medals for their achievement.
We are incredibly proud of these talented students for their hard work, dedication, and the outstanding way they represented Joshua High School.
