JHS Cross Country races to strong finishes at District Meet
The Joshua High School Cross Country team delivered an excellent performance at the District 8-5A Meet, showcasing the hard work and dedication they’ve poured into the season!
Their efforts paid off, with both varsity squads qualifying for the Regional Meet! The varsity boys finished strong in 2nd place as a team, highlighted by Edward Hernandez's impressive 3rd-place finish and Dom Gutierrez taking 10th. The varsity girls also shone, securing 3rd place as a team, with Rhyan Dollar-Daugherty finishing in 1st and Lyndie Freeman crossing the line in 4th!
The Region 1-5A races are in Lubbock on Monday, October 20, with the girls starting at 10:30 a.m. and the boys beginning at 11 a.m.
In the junior varsity division, the boys' team secured 2nd place overall after four runners placed in the top 10. Braeden Quinonez claimed the top individual spot, while Jack Merrell finished 7th, Maddiz Villanuevas took 8th, and Peyton Ray rounded it out with a 10th-place finish. The JV girls' team did not have a team score.
