https://www.loom.com/share/c4827d7b3cb2454eba4bf89ec0529722Greetings! Welcome to my website. Please feel free to check this website for weekly lesson plans, assignment schedules, and class announcements. This is a great tool for communicating with parents. So, parents, please email me if you have any questions regarding the class, or if you would like a report on your student's progress in my class. On a personal note: This is my 34th year to teach. One of those years was in Oklahoma, and the rest have been right here in Texas! I'm beginning my 18th year here at Joshua High School. My husband, Max, also teaches at NGC and is coaching varsity football and varsity softball . We have two daughters, a son and a dog. Adrianne--23 and a graduate of UNT, Allie--21-a JHS graduate, Aidan--16, a sophomore and Sooner, our American Eskimo Spitz--14 . (Yes, we're OU fans) I love teaching and working with young people, and in my spare time---when I'm not running all over watching my kids play sports--I enjoy reading, playing golf and watching ALL kinds of sports.Class Supply List: loose leaf notebook paper, BLACK and RED pens, pencils, , a binder is optional--but only one binder for this class! Other supplies will be needed according to special projects. Students will be informed of these at the particular time, and those specific supplies will be posted here, as well.

Class Rules and Procedures: 1.) Be on time, 2.) Be respectful, 3.) Be prepared,
Assignments are usually due the next class period unless otherwise stated. Assignments are considered late if not turned in at the beginning of class on the day it is due. One day late results in a 25 point deduction from grade. Two days late results in 50 point deduction. On the third day the assignment will receive 0 point.
Retests are allowed for any student who scores BELOW a 70. Retests must be done in a timely fashion--no more than three days after test has been returned to the student. Student is responsible for scheduling with me! Highest grade on retest is a 70
Grading Procedures:The Joshua High School English department has a grading policy in place for the '20-21 school year. Daily assignments will count 34%, tests will count 33%, and projects and writing assignments will count 33%. Most essays will be graded using a rubric designed specifically for that essay.
