CHECK OUT THE PEARSON REALIZE WEBSITE TO SEE WHAT IS AVAILABLE TO YOUR STUDENT.  (Students must access Pearson through ClassLink.)

Distance Learning: Due to the Corvid 19 virus, we are currently faced with the difficult task of teaching/learning from a distance. I will do all I can to help students through this uncertain time.  I will be having question and answer time each weekday morning on Google Meets from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.  Please note that these sessions must be recorded.  They will not be shared. They are only for my records.

Welcome to Geometry! I hope students have a great experience in my class.  I have a classroom set of Chromebooks, so we will be using technology to enhance our learning as much as possible. We have some wonderful online resources with our textbooks, so we will be using the Pearson Realize website frequently.  Most homework assignments will be available online at pearsonrealize.com and on paper for those who prefer paper or do not have internet access outside of school.

    Class Supply List:

PENCILS (mechanical preferred, but regular pencils are fine)

PAPER - wide or college ruled

1/2"  3 ring binder for notes - will be kept in classroom

    4 AAA batteries for calculators

Earbuds are also helpful as students will be able to watch math videos on the Chromebooks.
Optional: They may also bring a mouse to use with the Chromebooks.  The Chromebooks have a touch pad that works well, but some students prefer to use a mouse.

There will be a project the last 6 weeks that requires students to design a house and build a model of it.  Start thinking now about saving cardboard boxes to use.

Grading Procedures:  This year in my geometry classes, I will be taking grades on daily quizzes instead of from the homework. The homework will be assigned with time to work on it in class. The next day there will be a daily 5 to 10 question quiz over the homework problems. We will go over the homework before taking the quiz.  The homework is still turned in right before the chapter tests. Completed homework is counted as extra credit towards their test grade. Daily quizzes may be corrected to an 80 if grades are low.

District policy dictates that students must show ALL work on math problems.
Tests count as 60% of six weeks grade.
Daily work counts as 40% of six weeks grade.
