Curriculum Maps
JISD’s Curriculum Maps are detailed outlines of all of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) that must be taught in each subject area at each grade level. The maps are organized by six-week periods. They designate the major concepts and skills that students are expected to learn during each period. The maps also provide assessment information and resources that may be used to assist students in learning.
It is extremely important that students' knowledge and skills build progressively from year to year. The Curriculum Maps provide an efficient method for standardizing and analyzing curriculum and ensuring horizontal and vertical alignment from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Curriculum Maps are updated on an ongoing basis.
