Homework Haven is a special place where any student needing help with class work can come for free instructional support and even a snack at the end of the day. Tonya Long serves as the Coordinator for the Homework Haven. The facility serves 20-40 students per day with various curricular needs. The Haven goal is to provide for the needs of any student requesting assistance with core instructional curriculum. Students can expect to receive time in both small groups and some individual tutoring to improve their understanding of material. All students at Homework Haven will be served by certified instructional staff. The student to teacher ratio is kept at about 7 to 1, and it has been time tested that Homework Haven just might be the difference between academic success or failure. Homework Haven provides academic support in the areas of mathematics, science, social studies, and reading/language arts, Homework Haven has the qualfied staff needed to support student needs. If you need a little help with school work, request an application from your campus principal or simply print the form located on this site. Applications must be returned to the campus your child attends, and since space is limited, the student must have prior approval before beginning the use of Homework Haven. If you would like to see what Homework Haven is all about, come by between 3:30-5:30 pm on Monday-Thursday. You are always welcome to come visit, and we love to see the community take an active role in supporting the kids of JISD.
