Welcome to my science class!  As a student in Chemistry you will continue your exploration of the world and how things work. The study of matter, energy and natural phenomenon are all centered around the questions "How?" and "Why?"  We have a lot of learning to do this year, and your adventures in science have just begun!
You will need: 1 - 3 ring binder w/dividers (1") or a multi-subject spiral notebook with pockets. 1 - 2-pocket folder with brads (Color will be determined by what period you attend.) 1- expo marker / whiteboard marker (Any DARK color will do!) 1 - scientific calculator 1 - writing utensil (Mechanical pencils are preffered, but blue/black ink pens are acceptable.
Class Rules: 1. Come to class on time, with appropriate materials. 2. Keep hands, feet, and all other objects to yourself. 3. Show respect to yourself, your peers and your school. 4. Food and drinks should never be consumed in the classroom. 5. Follow all directions the FIRST time they are given. Consequences: A logbook is kept of broken rules for each student. If a student chooses to break a rule: 1. Student's name is written on the log sheet, and a verbal warning is given. 2. Student's log sheet is noted, and an email or note will be sent home to the parent/guardian. 3. Student's log sheet is noted, and a phone call requesting a parent conference will be made. 4. Student's log sheet is noted, and a referral to the office will be made. 5. Referral to office; counselors contacted to start intervention proceedings.
Grading Procedures: 1/3 Daily Work  Including but not limited to: Bellringers, most homework, practice problems/worksheets, and pop quizzes. 1/3 Projects  Including but not limited to:  Labs, Research Papers, Weekly Quiz grades, and notebook grades 1/3 Tests  This will include ALL chapter and 6wks tests.
